Using Local Outdoor Gear is easy, however if you are not familiar with online forums it can be a bit foreign at first.
Follow the directions below to learn how to post on this site. At this time you cannot submit photos on our mobile version of this site. However you can on your computer and we are working on identifying a work around to allow you to be able to in the future.
STEP 1:
Register and or Login
STEP 2:
Go to the appropriate category in which you would like to post (i.e. Hunting Gear)
STEP 3:
If there is a sub-category that you would like to post under open that folder (i.e. Archery Gear)
STEP 4:
Once you are where you would like to post, click Create Thread
STEP 5:
Enter in the Subject line the description of what you are selling
STEP 6:
Below in the body you can put additional details of what you are selling (i.e. Price, Condition, etc.) You can use the items on the menu bar just like you would in Microsoft Word to Highlight, Underline, Bold, etc. your font. You should not need to list your contact information as people can respond directly to you on this forum. You can change your personal settings to email you when someone replies to your thread. See thread on how to change personal settings to do this.
STEP 7:
If you have a picture or image you would like to post, click on "Add Attachments" in the top right hand corner. It will then ask you to select your file from your folder. It will upload the image and then you can click Insert to post it in the body of your message. You can upload up to 3 images under any 1 thread. If you need to post multiple images just click "Reply" after you have created your thread and you will be able to add additional threads with additional images linked to your original thread. (All images need to be less than 1MB in size for now. If your image is larger than 1MB you will need to optimize it for the web to decrease it's size; we are in the process of upgrading the account so that we will not run into this issue in the future. We appologize for the inconvenience. In the mean time you can also email your images to localoutdoorgear@gmail.com and after you post your item for sale we will add them to your post on the backend).
STEP 8:
Once your image is entered and your content is set hit Create Thread
